Eid Festival 5/8/23

Community Event to celebrate Eid at Lake Elizabeth in Fremont on May 8th, 2023

​

To celebrate Eid, we held a festival with a prize wheel, popcorn booth, beanbag race, soccer games, and more. The kids had a lot of fun earning tickets and spending them to earn toys at our prize wheel!

Afghan Community Kitchen Grand Opening 2/23/23

Grand Opening of the Afghan Coalition Community Kitchen Fremont on February 23rd, 2023​

Our sponsors' generous donations helped the Afghan Coalition's Microenterprise Community Kitchen Program to purchase an oven for the community to use. With the oven and their recent certifications in food handling safety, the new arrivals will now have a commercial kitchen from which they can hone their skills or even bake special Afghan foods to be sold to local markets. This is a day to celebrate a great milestone in their journey to be self-sufficient, and we look forward to future events with our rising chefs!

We helped set up a fun event for the youths with a live Zumba instructor and food and games provided.

Farm Field Trip 6/4/23

Summer camp field trip to the Ardenwood Historic Park on June 4th, 2023

As one of the summer camp activities, the kids took a field trip to a historic farm and were able to meet, feed, and study real farm livestock!

Afghan Coalition Annual Community Meeting 8/25/23

The Afghan Coalition was selected as Nonprofit of the Year by Senator Aisha Wahab! We were especially honored to meet her along with different Afghan community leaders and to receive an award in recognition of our continued commitment to the Afghan community.

We met up again with the Afghan Coalition to hold a fun event for the youths with live music, oil painting, party games, and a raffle for prizes.

Members of the Afghan-American community gathered here to get trained and certified in safe food handling in preparation for the grand opening of the community kitchen. The kitchen's oven was fully funded by a large grant from our generous sponsors.

We partnered with the Afghan Coalition again to help provide school support and resources, build and foster community, and hold a raffle for Afghan-American youths at Fremont's Age Well Community Center. Many thanks to Fatima for organizing this event and gathering everyone here!

Afghan Coalition 9/11/22

School Supply Donation at the Afghan Coalition in Fremont on September 11, 2022​

We were honored to team up with the Afghan Coalition, an organization dedicated to the welfare of Afghans in the US, to distribute to 15 children each with school supplies and a $50 Target gift card. Many of these kids were new arrivals, and we were able to help in their efforts to resettle.

We had the chance to meet Matt Mahan (future San Jose Mayor), Bien Doan (future San Jose City Councilmember for District 7), and Betty Duong (Chief of Staff of Supervisor Cindy Chavez). Everyone enjoyed meeting the community and celebrating our culture, and we were able to raise close to $350 from orchid sales!
