About Nathan Tran

Nathan is currently a junior at Milpitas High School. He helped start VAYR because, as the son of refugees himself, he empathizes with other people in need.

My Story

Hearing stories of the struggles my parents went through motivated me to help out with current refugees in the United States. Both of my parents were refugees to a different country before immigrating to the United States, so I know how hard it is for refugees in general to assimilate into a completely new environment. A current problem resides in an overflow of Afghan refugees because of violence in Afghanistan displacing Afghans. Our organization seeks to help Afghan refugees with their transition to life here in the United States.
